Koru are proud supporters of the South West Coast Path and have hard it’s national walking month. In fact we discovered the Prison after walking the South West Coast Path to Perranporth. Spotting the bright red rock face Cligga, oxidised iron ore with mine shafts and adits we were keen to explore the parts of the coastline that we could see from the land.

So we set out from Trevaunance Cove and kayaked along through Gadger and to the bright red rock face, we were amazed by the brightly coloured rocks created by oxidised metals copper and iron ore and a stunning walled cavern, ‘The Prison’ and brightly coloured ‘Orange Cave’.

Kayaking to the left from Trevaunance Cove we have discovered sea caves carved our in the mining era too now home to Atlantic Grey seals, the ledges home to guillemots and razorbills and shags.

On the south coast the coast path is stunning kayaking out towards Durgan with small sandy beaches, rock formations and smugglers caves to discover under it by kayak.
