Team building in nature is a great way to get the endorphins going and conversations flowing.
Koru Kayaking offer 2 hour stunning guided kayak adventures on the Helford River and creeks from the Budock Vean Hotel and Spa and along the Sr Agnes Coastline. We use yellow tandem sit on top kayaks which are really accessible. After a short briefing and getting kitted out with wetsuits, booties and buoyancy aids we guide you along two of Cornwall’s most stunning parts of the coastline, both the Helford and St Agnes Coastline are Areas of Outstanding Beauty and the St Agnes Coastline is a World Heritage Site with it’s Cornish Mining history.
- Brunch at Budock Vean Hotel & Spa
- Listening to birdsong at the bottom of Frenchman’s Creek, Helford River
- Helford River Cruises & Koru Kayaking take out a mixed group on the Helford
It’s not just the amazing locations, the wonderful yellow kayaks it’s actually getting out on the water together;
- Paddling side by side or behind or in front of each other makes conversations easier
- Being out in nature reduces stress
- The physical rhythm of paddling synchronizes people subconsciously
- Sharing the experience together builds trust
Every trip is different with varying tides and weather. We can also mix groups up by swapping kayakers around and also enable different people to steer the kayak. We find people working together navigating crossing the Helford River or through the caves and archways and waves on the St Agnes coastline helps to keep focus and built a shared experience no matter what do they do within the company.

Tom and Hetty, Koru Kayaking
Koru Kayaking launched in July 2012 and we have taken several groups out on both coasts, all enjoy refreshments afterwards and both our venues have great food and drink options, kayaking can make you hungry!
- Mooring up in caves along the St Agnes Coastline
- Cornwall Chamber Kayak Networking
- Driftwood Spars Team
We’ve enjoyed taking whole companies out at the same time using our sister company Helford River Cruises, or small departments with 4 – 8 people. Some come from afar and have opted to stay at the Budock Vean Hotel and Spa or in St Agnes, others are more local and make it a weekly kayak trip with different colleagues joining us each week, or a post meeting kayak. It’s been wonderful see and meet such diverse businesses, whose colleagues all come back beaming from our experiences.
In 2025 with we welcomed Cornwall Chamber of Commerce for monthly kayak networking trips. Tom Wildblood, co owner of Koru said: “I’ve never heard tax discussed on Frenchman’s Creek before it was quiet enlightening!’
Hetty Wildblood, co-owner of Koru said; ‘ It was magical having 20 business owners all fall silent to listen to the birdsong at the end of Frenchman’s Creek and despite never meeting eachother before they all made new connections. The conversations flowed even more when we moored up for a dip and the water let us float around the group. We looking forward to hosting more in 2026.’
