Hundreds if baby lobsters were released on the low tide from Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes on Thursday 31st October this year!

Padstow Lobster Hatchery brought the baby lobsters in test tubes to be released. Local children and adults joined in as the lobsters were released into the rock pools on the low tide.

The Hatchery said that there is a 20% success egg to release at 2 months old, then 50-60% success from release to adulthood. Lobsters can take 5 or more years to reach maturity. We are looking forward to following their journey. St Agnes has had a long history with lobsters, with local fishermen catching lobsters and spider crabs in their pots.
