Kayaking under Waterfalls

By July 13, 2013Kayaking News

On the North Coast Kayaking Adventure we pass two cliff waterfalls which are in the small bays on both sides of Green Island.  The first is called the “Chain Ladder” and is over 50 metres high and falls from an old mining drainage hole.  The second is in “Waterfall Bay” and is a stunning 7 metre fall which falls over a stained orange rock and you can often see gulls drinking the fresh water at the top of the waterfall.  On high tides you can kayak under the last fall as shown in the photos below and we often land on the beach under the “Chain Ladder” and our customers can enjoy a Timotei Shower.
