The autumnal colours, the lively birdlife this really is a wonderful time of year to get out on the water with Koru.

The Helford River has been enjoyed by many for centuries from the Iron Age times with settlements at Callamansak, this river was once as busier than the Thames with traders, but today is a sleepy stretch of water with sailing boats moored up around Helford Village and Helford Passage and up the creeks you can often be the only humans around.

Paddling up Frenchman’s Creek to the sound of birdsong, look out for the flash of blue and high chirp as a kingfisher flies by, or enjoy the little egrets perching like lanterns in the ancient oak trees, herons perched or stood by the waters edge and the haunting sound of the curlew. Moor up to take in the manificent view up the creek towards the river or just enjoy gliding back down the creek with the tide. It’s been referred to as an outdoor spa experience by some customers. The ultimate sensory experience.

Also available on paddleboards too!

Then enjoy a sauna, swim and outdoor jacuzzi at the Budock Vean Hotel.

Why not add on a lunch – pasty at The Koru Cafe or book a table on the terrace at Budock Vean Hotel
