Osprey spotted on the Helford for 3 weeks this October. Flying high above the Helford River, Frenchman’s Creek. Port Navas Creek and Polwheveral Creek. Osprey have historically named Sea Hawks, River Hawks or Fish Hawk which is quiet apt considering 99% of their diet is fish!

With a wing span of 180cm and length 60cm they are magnificent to see sawing in the sky, but with super vision too they can spot their prey from high up.

It’s become and annual visit to the Helford for the European Osprey at this time of year before they head south to the warmer climates of Africa for winter.
